Repose vs Better Stack

Better Stack is a polished, well-funded platform: uptime, on-call, status pages, logs and telemetry in one place. If you want all of that from one vendor, it's hard to beat. Here's where the two differ.

Figures from betterstack.com/pricing and repose.sh/pricing, read on 19 September 2026.

Where Better Stack is the better choice

  • Phone calls and SMS, unlimited and included with every responder licence. We have neither — push notifications, email, Slack and Discord only.
  • A whole observability platform. Logs, metrics and telemetry alongside uptime. We do uptime, on-call and status pages, and nothing else.
  • Richer incident evidence. Screenshots attached to the incident. We capture the response and the DNS, TCP and TLS stages, without screenshots.
  • More integrations, and a much larger team behind the product. Repose is one developer.

Where Repose is different

  • Flat pricing, not per responder. Team is $29 a month with unlimited seats. Better Stack's paid plan is $34 per responder per month ($29 billed annually), plus $25 for each additional 50 monitors.
  • More on the free plan. 25 monitors, 5 heartbeats and 3 seats, against 10 monitors and heartbeats combined.
  • A stated paging rule. A page means all three probes, on three continents, agreed — and one region failing is written down with its reason instead of escalated. You can loosen it per monitor.
  • It knows when it isn't your fault. 14 provider status pages are mirrored, and an alert caused by an upstream outage is held or tagged.
  • Status page subscribers aren't metered. Unlimited from the $10 plan; Better Stack lists $40 a month per additional 1,000 subscribers.
  • Every alert decision is kept, with its reason, on every plan including free.

Don't take a comparison page's word for it

Paste your list of URLs into Repose (Import a list takes a CSV export or a copied column), leave Better Stack running exactly as it is, and compare after a fortnight: what did each one wake you for, and which of those were real? Repose keeps every decision it made — including the ones where it chose not to page — so its half of that comparison is written down for you.

Or skip the fortnight and see the mechanism now. Type a URL and the same three probes check it while you watch:

Uptime monitoring that doesn't cry wolf.

Free for 25 monitors, commercial use included. New workspaces get 14 days of the Team plan, no card.
